You've got questions! We've got answers!

I've found that I've been receiving a few of the same questions lately, so I thought I would address them here!  It's funny how I can go months on Etsy with people placing orders with no questions or issues and then all of a sudden it seems like everyone has the same questions about items that I've been selling the whole time!  Ok, here we go:

Q: What does the SS and LS stand for on appliqué bodysuits and tees?
A: Short sleeve and long sleeve!  Etsy doesn't give me enough characters to type the entire word out.

Q: The listing asks me to select boy, girl, or neutral.  What's the difference?
A: Well, there are a few reasons I ask for this.  I have a lot of customers that place orders and ask me to select a fabric for them, so I'll need this information to do that.  My bodysuits are unisex, but my toddler tees are gender specific.  And if you happen to choose a more neutral fabric, this helps me decide on thread color.  It's no secret that I like to use a fun, contrasting thread on many of my designs and this way I don't choose hot pink when I should have chosen turquoise!

Q: How long will it take to get my order?
A: Well, it really just depends on how busy I am.  I try to keep production time around 2 weeks and never more than 3.  If I'm struggling to get items out within 3 weeks, I'll close until I can get caught up. You can always find my current production time in our shop announcements, but be aware, this can change from day to day!  It might say 1 week today, then I receive several orders, so it will be 2 weeks the following day.  Production time does NOT include shipping.  Shipping is an additional 2-5 days.  If you need something by a specific date, please let me know.  If you need something sooner than what my current production time is then you can purchase a rush orders for an additional fee.  If you make a purchase and include a date in the "notes to seller" that is faster than my current production time, you will be asked to purchase a rush fee in order to receive that item on time.  I am willing to do what I can to get your items to you when you need them, but please be respectful of my time and of others that have paid rush fees.

Q: I want to place an order, but I don't have a PayPal account and I don't want to sign up for one!
A: That's ok!  You can still place an order.  Select PayPal as your method of payment when you check out.  Below the "login" box, there is an option to check out as a guest.  That's you!  Then select the option to pay with a credit or debit card.  You'll be able to enter your billing information without creating a PayPal account.  Please be aware that you will still see PayPal on your bank account or billing statement because they are the ones that are processing the payment.  This does not mean you have a PayPal account, they are just the third party that is helping to get your money from you to me so I can send you something adorable!

When you're making a purchase, please take a few minutes to read the listing in its entirety and to read our shop policies.  I get so many questions that could have quickly been answered this way!

Does this help you out?  What other questions do you have???

Shop | It's fall, y'all!

Does the weather feel like fall where you are???  I hope so!  Fall hasn't quite hit Arizona yet, but it's still on my mind!  Scarves are one of my favorite accessories and these new vintage inspired florals are no exception.  Our scarves are made of a great, lightweight knit, like your favorite tshirt, and are the perfect transitional accessory if you are lucky enough to live somewhere with seasons!  There are only a few of these available and they will not be restocked!  This fabric is no longer available from my vendor, so when they're gone, they're gone!

We still have several chevron scarves available as well.  I've decided to retire the chevron scarves this fall and do not plan to reorder chevron fabric once these are gone, so get them while you can!

So what are you waiting for???  Go shopping!

Life | Soaking up the Summer

As you might guess, September in Tucson, AZ feels much more like summer than it does fall.  And while a big part of me wants to put on boots, jeans, and a chunky cardigan and go sip a pumpkin spice latte, I've decided to embrace the summer.

We spent this morning swimming in the pool and snacking on watermelon slices and I have no complaints.  Well, maybe one.  All summer I've been wanting to get one of those classic kid photos of Gabe sitting in the grass munching on a watermelon slice with juice running down his chin and onto his round little belly.

Of course, my son, who doesn't really like bubble baths because they get bubbles on him, was not having any messy eating.  In fact, it was a challenge to get him to hold the watermelon slice himself while he took small, neat bites.  I guess a clean, less sticky summer moment isn't so bad.

Sewing Studio | Update

Moving is hard work!  And we have a lot of stuff!  I'll admit, now that the house is "livable" (not the same as presentable!), I've lost a little steam when it comes to unpacking.  Maybe brown boxes are in... I mean, who really needs things on their walls???  Any one else feel a bit intimidated when comes to hanging things in a new space?  I use 3m strips as much as I can, so it's easy to change things around without any damage, but we have a few big pieces that definitely need anchors.  And that scares me a little!

On to the sewing studio...
After all our household goods arrived it look like this:

Yesterday it looked like this:

I'm not exactly sure how that happened, but I suspect my husband has tossed a few things in there that don't belong.  I've started unpacking sorting through everything, but it's a lot.  In our old house, my husband and I shared an office space.  Well, correction.  My husband had an office that I took over when I started the business without actually moving him out of it.  So a lot of the boxes that I'm unpacking are full of buttons and elastic (mine), but I'm also finding notepads and about 100 dry erase markers (his).  In this house, he'll have an office space in our guest room, so I'm having to work to sort our supplies.  I'm finding with unpacking that everything is taking longer than I think it will!  So the big question, when will I reopen???  Soon!  Keep your fingers crossed for long naps from my little guy and I'll keep you guys updated!  I CAN. NOT. WAIT. to start sewing again.  I have so many ideas for fall and holiday, updates to the style collection, and more!

(I'm planning to start blogging more and sharing more about our lives and DFD in this space!  So bookmark us or add us to your reader!  The new website is still under construction, so if you see any links that aren't working or if there's anything you'd like to see here that I don't have, let me know!)

Welcome!

Welcome to the first post on our new website!  My little business has gone through a lot of changes and growth in the past year and we needed a new website to reflect who we are now!  I'm hoping to blog a little more, to make it easier for you guys to keep up with all that's going on in the sewing studio (which is still very much under construction from our move) and to share interesting tidbits of our life!  The new website is still being "decorated", so to speak, so expect some changes as I work to get everything right where I want it and easy for you to find!  Please let me know if there are any links that aren't working for you or if there's something you like to see here that I haven't added!  Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you again soon!
