LIFE | Coffee Date

Happy Monday!  If we were having coffee today, here's what I would have to tell you...

I am SO glad it's almost October!  If you know me, you that I've been anticipating the arrival of October since May!  It's a big month for our family!  Not only will I have a 3 year old on the 1st, but we'll be celebrating as a complete family not too long after that!  This is also means that I'm in party planning mode and have been pinning away!  I'm hoping that having the party at a local park will help to take some of the stress off!  I've never hosted a park party before.  Do I need to plan any other activities for the kiddos or let the play ground do all the work?  We'll also be heading to Texas at the end of the month for my little sisters wedding!  That reminds me, I need to order this!  I'm pretty sure my heart is going to explode into a million pieces when I see Gabe walking down the aisle in his little tux.  Speaking of the Texas trip, we're driving there.  Which means that I'm thinking about knitting projects.  I think I'm ready to attempt this sweater!

My parents were in town this weekend and fly out this afternoon.  It's been so nice having them here. My dad, my sweet dad, did SO much yard work for me.  The backyard had gotten a little overgrown and it looks so much better now!  I wish we had taken a before photo because it was such a huge improvement!  I was even inspired to plant a few flowers!

Usually planting flowers for me is the equivalent of just planting money, so fingers crossed I can keep these alive for a bit!  We were also able to have a mini birthday celebration with Gabe and enjoyed a visit to the Desert Museum

The biggest excitement of the weekend was definitely finding this guy in the backyard!

Now I know that Arizona is home to a lot of interesting wildlife, but this was my first encounter with one of these!  Apparently he's a Kingsnake and he's the good kind because he eats rattlesnakes, but I still don't really want him in my yard.  Thankfully, my neighbors were thrilled to come down and get him for me and release him somewhere else (hopefully far away from my house) in the neighborhood.

And finally, work.  You know October is shaping up to be a busy month for me, so I won't be taking any custom orders after tomorrow.   My plate is full with all my turkey orders and I'll be starting on those later today.  I did just purchase a Silhouette Cameo machine and I think it's going to be a game changer for me when it comes to bulk orders and things like the turkeys.  I got it set up last week and cut some EGAs for a special project that I participate in.  So much easier than cutting them all by hand!  I am hoping to add a few more flannel cowls and some new clutches to the shop in the next week or 2. I've got some fun new fabrics that I think are really going to come together to make a great collection for the fall and winter.

Hope you were able to enjoy a PSL during our virtual coffee date today!  Have a good week!
